                                                          April 16, 2013
                  ________________________________________________________

Only three people attended the meeting on Tuesday, April 16, 2013. Bill McDaniel, Nancy Wilson, Maureen Bonness, and Mike Knight from the Sanctuary who opened the room.

Oil drilling
Bill talked about the oil drilling in the neighborhood. He said he sent a multi-page report to Doug to send out to the members.

The scholarship fund
Bill found out that his lodge doesn’t have a scholarship program but the grand lodge does and he is waiting to get one from Rotary. It requires an essay from the applicants. We need to decide how much, etc. The money isn’t given to the person, it’s given to the school which sets up an account in the name of the applicant.

The website
Doug said he got the website back up, and the next day Doug emailed Bill that it is up so he can go ahead and put up the sign. Bill said he has it in his truck.

Election of CINA Officers
Elections were supposed to happen in April but it was put it off until the next meeting in June.

Wildlife in the neighborhood
Maureen reported three panthers in her area. She herself saw one just ten feet away from her as she sat on her porch. It stared right at her. She got up to get her camera and saw two more cubs behind her. And someone else saw a female with three kittens and another saw a female with two kittens. Maureen reported that someone had a camera out in the forest for motion detection pictures. They thought it had been vandalized by people. But the film showed a bear coming up to it, standing up and sniffing it, then a big paw in front of the lens, then topsy turvey, upside down trees and sky, and then a big bear butt. The bear sat on the lens!

Lazy Springs
Bill talked about his Lazy Springs. He’s talking to the sheriffs of Lee and Collier and suggesting that when they arrest juveniles for trespassing with ATVs, they give them 30 days to come out to his Lazy Springs and practice out there.

The meeting was over at 7:55 pm.
